UNM's Masters of Accounting program offers the Professional Concentration to students with an undergraduate degree in any field. Students with an undergraduate accounting degree may pursue a concentration in Tax or an Advanced concentration. In addition, applicants must sit for the Graduate Management Admission Test. A GMAT/GRE score of 500 or above is required. Depending on certain circumstances, the GMAT/GRE may be waived (see below).
Students may take up to six (6) credit hours in non-degree status at the Anderson Schools of Management before being admitted into the program. Credit from classes taken as non-degree will count towards the Masters degree upon admission into the program.
Depending on the MACCT Concentration chosen, the GMAT/GRE requirement may be waived. Review the following to determine if you qualify for the GMAT/GRE waiver.
Master of Accounting - Professional Concentration
The GMAT/GRE is waived for students who have a BBA from an AACSB accredited school with a minimum
of 3.25 GPA in all upper division course work. Students granted the waiver must also attend the
Anderson School of Writing workshop.
Master of Accounting - Tax or Advanced Concentration
The GMAT/GRE is waived for MACCT Tax or Advanced Concentration students who have an undergraduate
major in accounting from an AACSB-accredited school with a minimum of a 3.25 GPA in both upper-division
classes and accounting classes.
