The Anderson MACCT prepares students either with or without accounting backgrounds in the accounting profession to be experts in areas such as taxation, information assurance, auditing, finance, fraud, and managerial accounting. With individualized attention from the MACCT staff and professors, students obtain the skills and analytical thinking to become CPAs and also leaders in their field. All concentrations in the MACCT program are 33 credit hours and prepare students to take the CPA exam upon completion.
MACCT Professional Concentration
The MACCT Professional is for students without an accounting undergraduate degree who wish to enter the accounting field. This 33 credit-hour degree provides a strong foundation, including the coursework necessary to take the CPA exam. This concentration requires students to complete an Introductory Financial Accounting course before beginning the program and to complete an introductory managerial accounting course either before or during the program. MACCT Advanced Concentration
The MACCT Advanced is for students who completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution. This concentration builds on the undergraduate framework of an accounting degree and prepares a student for advanced knowledge in the areas of financial accounting, taxation, auditing, data analytics and constituent-specific accounting. MACCT Information Assurance Concentration
The MACCT IA is for students who completed a bachelor’s degree in accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution. This concentration prepares students for the field of Information Assurance from both an accounting and non-accounting perspective. Students receive focused experience in the accounting areas of financial accounting, taxation, fraudulent and forensic accounting, auditing, data analytics and non-accounting areas such as information system security, management systems, system and network administration, and digital forensics. MACCT Tax Concentration
The MACCT Tax Concentration is designed for individuals who have already earned an undergraduate degree in accounting from an AACSB-accredited institution and want to advance their knowledge in taxation. Students will take core accounting classes including financial accounting, auditing, and data analytics while focusing their remaining courses in a variety of taxation subjects. Integrated BBA/MACCT Program
The Integrated program is aimed at Anderson undergraduate students with a clear focus on accounting, tax accounting, or information assurance. This program will prepare students to obtain a Master of Accounting and meet the 150-hour requirement to take the CPA exam. A full-time student can complete the BBA and MACCT degrees in five years.
